Both diesels are fitted with electric oil changers and an Algae-X recirculating filtration system cascaded to Racor filters.

Navtec rod rigging (dye inspected in 2005) with hydraulic backstay. All sheets, lines, and halyards replaced in 2005-2006.  Furlex genoa furling and  EZ-Furl in-mast main furling installed in 1999. Large Barient winches throughout, all self-tailing.

Accommodations: full headroom forward and rear staterooms, each with head and shower; large main salon with 2 convertible double berths, entertainment center, and nav station. Large galley with propane 3 burner stainless steel stove and oven, microwave, very large 12 volt frig/freezer and double stainless sink. Abundant storage throughout with cedar lined hanging lockers in the 2 staterooms.

Entertainment center includes TV, VCR, DVD, AM/FM, cassette player, 10 disc CD changer, XM ready, and 8 speaker system throughout the boat with central switching panel.

Beautifully maintained teak throughout, with all cushions like new.

Two reverse cycle heat and air conditioning systems, operable thru dockside or genset.

Ground tackle includes all chain rode with a 35# CQR plow anchor and a (new, never used) Fortress anchor with chain/nylon rode. Raw water washdown for anchor and deck installed new in 2006. Anchor windlass handles both chain and nylon rode.

Four wet cell batteries with Xantrex chargers all new in 2004. One dedicated starting battery, 2 house batteries, and anchor windlass battery. Power isolators and cross-over switches with solenoid.

Electronics all new in 2004-2005: 48 mile (4kw) Raymarine radar with color GPS overlay; Horizon dual station DCS VHF; Raymarine speed, depth, and wind instruments.

Safety equipment: never used (!) 2002 Winslow Superlite Coastal life-raft for 8 in valese pack (due to be repacked); 2004 ACR EPIRB with GPS interface; MOB ACR strobe; fully equipped ditch bag with 12 gauge and 25 mm flare guns. Honda 4 cycle emergency bilge pump located in stern lazarett.

Other equipment includes rarely used 11 ft hypalon air floor dink (BoatUS, new in 2001); 5hp Nissan (2001), probably less than 15 hours. Dinghy is mounted on stainless steel stern-mounted davits and outboard is serviced by Forespar motor-mate lift.

Rear pulpit mounted Magma part grill. 

Full standing headroom cockpit enclosure with both removable eisenglass and screens, “convertible top” bimini, dodger, and privacy curtains were all custom made new in June 2006. 

This second owner vessel has always been professionally maintained and is a real head-turner. The current owner, a USCG licensed captain, reluctantly has put “Fawlty Beagle” up for sale to go to the dark side (the wife and dogs wants a trawler). 

“Fawlty” sits in Pecan Grove Yacht Basin, Oriental, NC, the sailing capital of NC.
