E32 Holding Tanks

Hello all,
I have just finished a complete renovation of the sanitation system on my E-32, including replacing the head (with a Wilcox-Crittenden Skipper II) and holding tank, adding vented loops for both flush water intake and discharge, adding a diaphragm pump to assist in pumping out the holding tank when at sea (though as has been suggested already, the tank will pretty well siphon out through the overboard discharge thru-hull as long as you are moving through the water), completely replacing all of the sanitation and water-transport hose, and adding odor filters and water treatment cartridges in the system. I will be happy to share information/schematics of the system I installed. Contact me at jaycall@mediaone.net if you are interested.

To address the immediate question: Without going to custom fabrication, the largest holding tanks which I have located and which will fit are made by Ronco and Krakor. Both measure 24"X14"X10" and will hold 13 gallons. Either tank will install easily under the forward port V-berth, with room left for filters, pumps, hose connections, etc. and are available from almost any chandlery, or from virtually all mail order houses (like Defender). Ronco lets you specify the set-up for the hose connections, and Krakor's tanks have slightly thicker walls. I wanted to install a SeaLand tank, but the only available ready-made size which will fit is too small (9 gallons). It's a great quality tank, though. Hope this helps. Best to all.
